Why the ZOLL AED is the best choice

  • Designed based on extensive usability testing, every ZOLL AED is Easy to Use, Easy to Own, and Easy to Maintain.
  • Built on the life-saving benefits of ZOLL’s Real CPR Help® technology that has been shown to more than double a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival.
  • Most people have no way to know if they are doing CPR correctly. ZOLL’s Real CPR Help® technology guides rescuers to provide high-quality CPR with a prompt to “Push Harder” or a “Good Compressions” message.
  • High-resolution full-colour graphic images and text accompany all audio prompts for clear understanding of what to do next.
  • ZOLL AED 3 – On-screen display of elapsed rescue time and number of shocks delivered provides critical information that Emergency Services personnel will need to know on arrival.
  • ZOLL’s CPR Uni-Padz can be used for both adult and child patients.
  • Easy to own because it has the world’s first five-year universal electrode pad and a battery that lasts up to five years, keeping the cost to own surprisingly low.
  • The only AED that has PlusTrac™ Wireless Programme Management Onboard to check the readiness and status of your ZOLL AED 3.
  • Worry-free readiness with no maintenance inspections required.
  • Every AED comes supplied with a Rescue Accessory Pack that is attached to Universal CPR Uni-padz™, and contains non-latex gloves, barrier mask, razor, towlette, and scissors for easy removal of clothing.
  • ZOLL AED 3: Dual orientation: can be placed upright or flat for optimum visibility during a rescue.

Automated External Defibrillators (AED) Training Course

Learning outcomes for use of an AED

On completion of training in the use of an AED the participant should be able to demonstrate the sequence of actions and skills required to use an AED during the simulated resuscitation of an adult victim who has suffered a cardiac arrest.

This will be assessed both during and at the end of the training, using a simulated incident, AED and a resuscitation training manikin.

AED Course Duration

2 Hours

Each candidate that successfully completes this course, will receive an AED certificate which is valid for three years.

“The automated external defibrillator (AED) has been described as the single most important
development in the treatment of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). These devices are now widely available and increasingly used by people, often with little or no training, to re-start the heart of a victim of SCA. Under ideal circumstances, when used very soon after collapse (within two or three minutes), many can survive. (A guide to Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs): By Resuscitation Council (UK) and British Heart Foundation”

Why attend this AED course?

50% of all Sudden Cardiac Arrests are witnessed. The immediate initiation of bystander CPR can double or quadruple survival from out -of-hospital cardiac arrest.

Treatment includes:

  • CPR, to keep the blood flowing through the body
  • Defibrillation, to restore a normal rhythm to the heart

Our AED course teaches essential skills that an AED operator needs and gives delegate the confidence to know what to do in an emergency.

Every minute counts

Medical attention must be administered as soon as possible after the victim collapses; the chances for survival decrease 10% with every minute you wait.

Who should attend the AED Course?

The AED Course is generally suitable for people aged 16+ who want to learn how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) machine.

No previous first aid knowledge is needed to attend an AED course.

Course Delegates must:

  • Be physically able to carry out the practical elements of the AED training course
  • Attend full course duration to be eligible for assessment.

It happens in a split second. A person collapses — the victim of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) — and the clock starts ticking. You call for help and the medical personnel are on their way. But precious seconds are racing by. The victim’s best chance for survival is immediate CPR and a rescuer with an automated external defibrillator (AED).

We also offer an AED with life support course for people who don’t have a current first aid certificate.
